Use up your old one pound coins by October 15th 2017 when they cease to be legal tender. Banks will probably take them after this date for their own customers. The new £10 polymer note, formally issued on 14th September 2017, is produced by the Bank of England rather than the Royal Mint and will continue to hold its value "for all time."
