Leonard Vowler Memorial

David Meredith, 3rd February 2021

Permission has now been granted to erect a plaque in St Mary's Church Bickleigh in memory of Leonard Vowler, Air Gunner R.A.F 223 Squadron, who lost his life when his plane was shot down over Europe on the night of the 20/21st March 1945. Leonard was a son of the Village Blacksmith. He was aged 21. His nephew, Rodney Vowler, who lives in Bath, and other family members are pleased that his memory will not be forgotten.
