Bickleigh on Exe Primary School

Bickleigh-on-Exe Church of England Primary School offers a nurturing and supportive environment for children aged 5 to 11 to learn, grow and play. Bickleigh Pre-school is also based on the school site and works alongside the EYFS team to ensure a smooth transition to Reception.

The school originally started in 1841, when the Revd Thomas Carew, rector of Bickleigh, gave some land near to the church as a site for a school. In 1960 the current buildings were constructed on the present site to educate the growing numbers of children in more suitable accommodation. The present accommodation provides five classrooms and the facilities to achieve the broad curriculum, that the staff and Governors, feel are important for our pupils. Just beside the school is a Community Orchard, copse and pond.
